Xenia Stanford

Xenia Stanford is an author, award winning writer, substantive editor and ghostwriter, as well as a professional speaker and writing coach. She is a professional genealogist and produces family histories for her family and her clients. As an educator and researcher, she has headed research teams at universities in Canada and Australia.  


She worked in academic, government and industry organizations where she led teams in library, records management, information and knowledge strategy, systems development and Internet/Intranet.  

Currently she is CEO of Stanford Solutions Inc., which includes the following branches: A.G.E. Ancestree Genealogical Enterprises and Write On! XPRESS. She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of KnowMap: The Knowledge Management, Auditing and Mapping Magazine  

A prolific writer, she has been quoted widely in government reports, academic theses and industry articles. As a ghostwriter, she has produced press releases for government officials (e.g. for the National Librarian of Canada, April 2000 to celebrate International Special Librarians' Day), written reports and letters for industry, and several books on diverse topics. 

She developed "The Foolproof Resume™" and helped clients with their cover letters and offers coaching support for job hunters or those looking for internal promotions and/or salary increases. 

Xenia's Accomplishments: 

Delivered workshops and consulting services to federal, provincial/state and regional governments in Canada and the United States.  Acknowledged by peers with placement on the Global Knowledge Leadership Map of the top one hundred global leaders in knowledge management/innovation. 


Chosen to lead a session at Global Learn Day V, a live telecast contributed to by many leaders around the world and received on every continent.  Selected to coordinate and co-lead Global Learn Day VI.  Appointed founding Dean of the Socrates Academy and Dean representing North America for this distance learning organization.  

Named one of the 21 Ken Practitioners in the world and featured as such in the book, The Innovation Superhighway: Harnessing Intellectual Capital for Prosperity by Debra M. Amidon (Boston: Butterworth-Heinemann, 2002). 

Obtained credentials of Certified Teleclass Leader Received Bachelor of Education degree and completed all coursework for Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Arts (Honours), as well as many courses in the information (including Master of Library Science) and knowledge management industry. 

Appointed Public Relations Chair for Western Canada Chapter of Special Libraries Association (SLA) and Chair of Knowledge Management Section of Leadership and Management Division of SLA.
